Best Abstract
Awards
In
addition to 100 Best Abstract Awards for practitioners and researchers,
another 100 Best Abstract Awards sponsored by Department of Social Work
and Social Administration of University of Hong Kong are open to full
time students in any social work programme as well as scholars
under the age of 40 respectively.

For
each of the 25 sub-themes, two best abstracts with outstanding academic
and professional merits will be awarded for each category of
participants and the main author will be waived half of the
registration fee. All applicants are required to submit their application
together with their abstracts on or before 31 December 2009.
Deadline for Application: 31 December 2009
Award Criteria
a) Relevance: topic is relevant to the theme / sub-theme of
the Conference
b) Knowledge Contribution: Abstract builds and expends on the
previous work / literature / theories
c) Innovativeness: The material shared is up-to-date,
innovative, and will lead to future advancement in social work and
social development
d) Clarity: Abstract is clearly presented and includes all
essential information
Notification of the Selection Result
All applicants will be informed about
the result via email by 28 February 2010.
Selection Presentation & Publication
While the awards will be presented
during the Conference, awardees will be selected prior to it by a
selection committee. Awardees will be requested to make presentation in
the Conference. The winning abstracts may be selected for inclusion in
a special Conference publication. The selection committee reserves the
rights to select less than 2 best abstracts for certain categories of
the sub-themes. The decision of the selection committee is final.
